Deprecation Record

The hinata-api-router Worker was shipped on 2026-05-27 morning to proxy api.michael-engineer.dev/{commander}/* to per-commander backends. Within the same day it was retired in favour of Setup C — a single cloudflared tunnel on jimmy-vps that path-dispatches every request, including to Mac backends reached via Tailscale.

Why Retired

• Two tunnels (Mac + VPS) was one more than needed

• The Worker added a hop (~10-50ms compute + extra CF edge roundtrip)

• It required the internal.michael-engineer.dev subdomain as a Worker→tunnel hop

• The "single gateway" pattern (one cloudflared on jimmy-vps with path-based ingress) achieves the same public schema with fewer moving parts

Current State

• Worker hinata-api-router deleted from Cloudflare (2026-05-27 ~12:11)

• Worker source dir deleted from Sandpit

• DNS internal.michael-engineer.dev deleted (was orphan)

• jimmy-vps /etc/cloudflared/config.yml now path-dispatches /events, /bulma, /weather
